Czechia wins arbitration case against JCDecaux
Czechia has won an international arbitration case brought by the French advertising company JCDecaux and will not have to pay damages of around CZK 550 million, the Finance Ministry announced on Sunday.
The dispute concerned the termination of a contract for advertising space in the Prague metro between Prague's public transport company and JCDecaux's subsidiary Rencar. The arbitration tribunal ruled that the actions of the transport company could not be attributed to the Czech state under international law.
The tribunal also awarded Czechia about CZK 33 million in legal costs. The dispute stems from the transport company's decision to terminate the contract with Rencar in 2016.
