“We expressed Turkey’s willingness to negotiate a comprehensive economic partnership agreement with Syria in the new phase and our readiness for these negotiations,” said Turkish Trade Minister.
Turkey’s Trade Ministry said that the country is pursuing a free trade agreement with Syria amid mounting criticism over the Syrian government’s recent decision to standardize tariffs.
Iranian lawmakers have passed the outlines and details of a bill amending the appendix to the free trade agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic.
An official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran said that implementation of a Free Trade Agreement between Iran and Syria would beef up the mutual trade to a great extent.
Iran is planning to sign free trade agreements with Syria, Venezuela, Pakistan, and one Eastern European country. He also said that Iran is seeking preferential trade agreements with Indonesia and some East Asian countries.
